Regional workshop for Caribbean TVET leaders

A training program for institutional technical and vocational education and training (TVET) leaders from the Caribbean was organised by COL in Barbados, with the goal of enhancing skills to integrate open and distance learning (ODL) in TVET. Participants hailed from Barbados, Belize, Dominica, St Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Suriname.

In collaboration with UNESCO-UNEVOC and the Caribbean Association of National Training Agencies, the training included a COL course on Leadership for ODL in TVET, which targeted institutional managers and administrators. On successful completion of the course, participants were able to (1) develop/review their ODL strategies, (2) develop action plans for implementing the strategies and (3) implement the action plans and strategies.

COL hosted a wrap-up workshop to validate strategies and develop operational plans for implementation.
