“COL is an institution of solidarity”: PM St Vincent and the Grenadines

COL is partnering with St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) to expand students’ access to online and blended learning. At the project launch in February 2023, Prime Minister Dr the Honourable Ralph Gonsalves underscored the importance of e-learning for St Vincent and the Grenadines, describing COL as “an institution of solidarity.” He also tressed the importance of ensuring online courses have quality content customised to meet the needs of Vincentians.

In his address, the prime minister mentioned the importance of ensuring quality content for online courses. “Technology is the medium, but it has to have content.”

In the first of four capacity-building activities, 25 lecturers were trained to design, develop and facilitate online courses. COL will also assist SVGCC in developing an online teaching and learning policy and building a learning support system for online learners.
