TVET online toolkit for the Pacific

COL is fostering continuous professional development (CPD) for TVET practitioners in the Pacific through the TVET Professional Development Toolkit for the Pacific. Five partner institutions in the Pacific are implementing CPD projects via the toolkit.

TVET trainers at the Montfort Technical Institute, Tonga, are using it to develop questions for competency-based assessments. At the Pacific Polytech in Fiji, trainers are applying toolkit resources to develop descriptors for 13 micro-courses on building foundations. Lecturers at the University of Samoa are drawing upon the toolkit as they develop a learner’s course manual on growing plants from seeds. Course writers from the TVET curriculum and e-learning wing at the Department of Education in Papua New Guinea are using the toolkit to develop 12 modules for a learner guide in commercial cookery. Staff at the Ituani Vocational Skills Centre in Vanuatu are implementing the toolkit for a project that will enable staff to use real-life knowledge for building industry relationships and promoting TVET.
