What is a gender-sensitive approach to livelihoods and why is it important?

Men and women have different roles and responsibilities in society, and they are affected differently by climate change. Women are more likely to face poverty and have less access to resources than men. They are also more likely to be affected by the impacts of climate change than men are.
Gender-sensitive livelihoods
Gender-sensitive livelihoods consider the different needs and experiences of women and men and promote equal opportunities for both. They ensure that women have access to the same resources and training as men and can participate fully in economic activities.
